SOMOS Kidz is a short animated series produced as part of SOMOS Community Care’s COVID-19 health initiative campaign for young children, funded by the New York State Health department. The series featured three children living in New York City during the COVID-19 pandemic and was produced into English and Spanish. The goal of the series was to teach young children how to practice COVID-19 prevention measures such as social distancing and how to properly wash their hands as they go about their daily routines.
It was the first COVID-19 awareness and prevention content produced for children under 12 years of age in the United States. It was also one of the organization’s first two NY Emmys awarded by NATAS in 2021.
